Farquhar’s first deal in new guise

FORMER prefabricated bathroom “pod” maker RB Farquhar has completed its first deal since emerging in March from 15 months of administration.

The Huntly-based firm has bought Ellon-based safety equipment supplier Stopsave in a deal worth about £2.5 million.

Michael Shand, former managing director of RB Farquhar Manufacturing, is to become a full-time director at Stopsave, whose founder Bill Davidson is to continue in a senior management role.

RB Farquhar used to make bathroom “pods” in the Czech Republic that were then installed in houses and hotels but collapsed during the property crash.
