Executive role for Scotgold chairman

Scotgold has given its chairman executive status as it prepares to make “complex decisions” after gaining permission to open Scotland’s first gold mine of modern times.

John Bentley has been closely involved with the firm’s bid to open a mine in the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park – its main venture – which was given planning permission in October. He said the board had appointed him executive chairman as it was crucial that the management team developed to reflect the changing requirements of the company.
