McHoul is currently chief financial officer at Amec, which he joined after leaving S&N, and will take up the non-executive position at Britvic in July.

Britvic chairman Gerald Corbett said McHoul’s extensive quoted company finance experience and “deep understanding of the global beverage sector” will be of significant value to Britvic as it looks to expand in existing markets and grow its international business.

McHoul has previously served as a non-executive director at Premier Foods.

Meanwhile, BT yesterday announced that Iain Conn, currently managing director of BP’s refining and marketing division, will join as a non-executive director in June.

Edinburgh-born Conn joined BP in 1986 and has worked in a variety of roles across the upstream, downstream and oil trading businesses. He joined BP’s board in 2004 serving three years as group executive officer for strategic resources, until taking up his current position in 2007.

Conn also has regional responsibility for BP’s Europe, southern Africa and Asia business.

He will stand down from an existing non-executive role with Rolls-Royce in May.
