Ernst & Young appoints a 30-year-old partner

ACCOUNTANCY firm Ernst & Young (E&Y) has appointed a 30-year-old partner – the youngest at its Scottish practice.

Annie Graham is one of 17 new UK partners appointed in the new year as the firm takes on a higher than average number of partners in anticipation of further growth.

Ms Graham has worked in the company’s assurance and advisory business services department for the last nine years and has had secondments with entrepreneurs Sir Tom Hunter and Chris Gorman.

The secondments will help her new role, which will focus on the retail and entrepreneurial markets in Scotland.

Hywell Ball, managing partner of E&Y in Scotland, said: “Annie is a respected and valuable member of our 54-strong group of partners and directors in Scotland. Her achievements are truly outstanding.”

The 17 new partners are in addition to the 12 that have joined the company in the last six months.

E&Y chairman Mark Otty said: “We are increasing partner numbers to meet the insatiable appetite for our services.”
