Ernst announces additions to team

Accountancy major Ernst & Young has unveiled a string of senior appointments at its financial services practice in Scotland as it pushes ahead with expansion plans.

The recruits include two new partners - Stuart Thomson and Peter Ames - and directors Robin Peters and Michael Scoular. Thomson, who previously ran his own consultancy business, will lead the firm's Scottish financial services advisory team.

The appointments form part of a three-year plan for Scotland, unveiled last year. This includes expansion of both the firm's corporate and financial services practices, extending to areas including advisory, forensics and new technology.
