Eland beefs up board with two new non-executives

Eland Oil & Gas, the Africa-focused explorer, has made its first board appointments since its flotation on Aim in September.

The Aberdeen-based firm said Andrew Bartlett, currently an oil and gas advisor at private equity firm Helios – which has an indirect holding of 29.4 per cent in Eland – joins the board on 1 January, along with James Ede-Golightly.

Ede-Golightly is a non-executive at ORA Capital Partners, the boutique investment firm set up by City financier Richard Griffiths, who has a stake of about 10 per cent in Eland.

The company raised £118 million when it joined Aim, the bulk of which was used to complete the acquisition of an oil field in Nigeria.
