Edinburgh Park secures two new tenants

Two new occupiers are taking up space at Edinburgh Park on the western outskirts of the city.

DNV GL and Exception are moving to 3 Lochside Way

IT consultant Exception, which last month took over Dundee-based mobile app developer Waracle in a seven-figure deal, is relocating from serviced workspace at nearby South Gyle to a 3,900 square foot unit at 3 Lochside Way, having signed a five-year lease with owner Aston Property Ventures.

DNV GL, the international certification organisation, is also making the move from South Gyle to 3 Lochside Way. The Oslo-based outfit, which provides technical services to the maritime, energy and oil and gas sectors, has agreed a five-year lease for 2,153sq ft.

JLL and Knight Frank acted for Aston Property Ventures on both deals, which see occupation at the refurbished building approach 50 per cent. Four suites remain vacant, spanning 13,395 sq ft.

Geoff Scott, associate director at JLL in Edinburgh, said: “The demand for space at Edinburgh Park is being driven by a combination of factors – better relative availability and lower costs than the city centre, the quality of the business environment, and its accessibility with first-class private and public transport links, including the tram network.”

However, Scott said that future supply may prove “problematic” for occupiers in west Edinburgh following last year’s expansion by banking giant HSBC at Edinburgh Park.
