Edinburgh cannabis cafe opens with hemp baked goods to be served this week
Vitality and Kynd in 14 Leven Street, owned by businessman Jas Nottay, is currently serving hemp coffees and other hot drinks infused with legal cannabis products from a hatch after it opened earlier this month.
The all-vegan coffee shop will be serving baked goods, including muffins, cookies and brownies, made using hemp and CBD oil as of this week.

Hide AdManager Kat Seale said the response so far to the new cafe had been “overwhelmingly positive”.
She said: “It’s been fantastic since we’ve opened.
"People keep coming back for more and they are really enjoying our products.”
Customers have the option of buying a coffee made with hemp-infused coffee beans – otherwise they can purchase a hot drink with drops of CBD oil added in for an extra charge of 75p.
Ms Seale said the CBD oil used was flavourless, but those opting for hemp products would be able to taste mild cannabis notes.

Hide AdAccording to staff, all the products are organic and the soon-to-be-served baked edibles will be made fresh every day.
Speaking about the use of cannabis products, Ms Seale said: “We have a real mixture of customers who come in because they want the hemp-infused drinks and food, but we also have many who come in who are just curious to try them.
"We are not legally allowed to advertise what we believe hemp and CBD oil is good for in the cafe, so when people ask I always encourage them to go and do their own research."
Ms Seale said most of the customers so far had been of a younger demographic, but “some of the older generation” have been popping in to try the products for health-related issues such as pain relief and to assist with sleeping.

Hide AdThe cafe is open every day from the property’s hatch from 9am until 6pm.
Ms Seale said there was still work to be done on the business which, when coronavirus restrictions ease, will be able to seat up to ten people inside with social distancing rules in place.
The cafe was due to open in October last year, but due to “uncertainties” in Covid times, the date was delayed several times until February.
