EasyJet numbers are taking off

Budget airline EasyJet yesterday reported robust growth in both passenger numbers and its load factor in June.

The total number of people booking seats on its flights stood at 5.4 million, up from five million in the same month last year.

The load factor, which shows the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available, rose 1.6 percentage points on the prior year to 89.9 per cent.

Over the 12 months to the end of June, the passenger total rose 7.5 per cent to 57 million.
