A clutch of post-lockdown letting deals gives “cause for optimism”, according to a property firm focused on the east of Scotland.

The east coast commercial agency of Allied Surveyors Scotland has reported increased levels of demand since coronavirus restrictions were eased.

Among the deals, a five-year lease has been agreed with Supporting Positive Paths CIC, which has snapped up office space at 2A Hopetoun Street, Edinburgh, after only two weeks on the market. In North Berwick, cyber security specialist Trustify has taken a five-year lease on an office in Forth Street Lane from Zest Capital Management.

Director of commercial agency (east), Iain Mercer, said: “These transactions are a positive sign that despite the threat posed by coronavirus, businesses are back out seeking their next premises.

“In the last six weeks we have experienced high levels of enquiries for office, industrial and retail premises.”
