East Lothian firm lands fresh deal for heat batteries

Thermal storage company Sunamp has agreed a deal with a clean energy platform to provide its customers with zero-carbon heat and hot water.

The East Lothian firm has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)with Ripple Energy, which enables users to part-own large scale wind farms to power their homes.

Under the deal, Ripple will soon offer Sunamp’s energy efficient heat batteries to its customers. The batteries deliver hot water on demand and have a proven lifecycle of over 40,000 cycles, which is equivalent to over 50 years of normal use.

Sunamp CEO Andrew Bissell said the offering is ideal for “consumers who care about home comfort, efficiency and the environment”.

The latest agreement for Sunamp follows MoUs signed last year which include a UK-wide deal to supply Leicester-based Fischer Future Heat as well as a tie-up with a major Chinese manufacturer.
