East Lothian Council contract bolsters Watts

Watts, the surveying, project management and cost consultancy, has hailed a solid start to 2016 after its Edinburgh office secured a 'significant' contract with East Lothian Council.

The firm, which also operates out of Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, London and Manchester, will carry out condition surveys and disability audits on more than 200 council-run properties including schools, town halls, public parks, libraries and cemeteries.

The contract success builds on a key win last year with a major high street food retailer to conduct asset management surveys on some 2,000 properties UK-wide.

Andrew Murray, the director in charge of the Edinburgh office of Watts, which employs about 140 staff nationwide, said: “The East Lothian Council success is the perfect start to 2016. We are particularly pleased to have succeeded in the very demanding public procurement contract sector.”

The firm was also involved in preparing Hampden Park as a venue for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014.
