Dundee's waterfront adds further developer

Dundee City Council yesterday said it was keen to hear from more businesses and entrepreneurs with plans for the regeneration of the city's waterfront after selecting construction group Robertson for a £40 million multi-purpose development at the site.

The project will be sited next to Dundee's planned V&A museum

The project will be located next to the planned V&A museum and opposite the new entrance to the city’s train station, comprising 67 flats for the private rental sector, 50,000 square feet of Grade A office space, and a 120-bed high-end hotel.

Derek Shewan, chief operating officer at Robertson, said: “We are looking forward to delivering something the whole of Scotland can be proud of.”

Dundee City Council city development convener Councillor Will Dawson said: “We expect more private investment in the Waterfront to emerge as the surge in interest we are currently seeing from developers begins to bear fruit.”

The waterfront project is valued at some £1 billion.
