Drive to put women on boards ‘success’

PRIME Minister David Cameron is this week expected to claim an early success in his drive to put more women in Britain’s boardrooms, with figures showing that nearly a third of recent FTSE 100 appointments were female.

A report earlier this year by former trade minister Lord Davies called for a minimum of 25 per cent female representation on top-flight firms’ boards by 2015.

The latest survey shows the figure stands at 14 per cent, with Davies expected to unveil the update at a Downing Street event on Wednesday.
