Dog biscuit maker wins Interface award

A maker of healthy dog biscuits has won the innovation of the year prize tonight at the Interface Excellence Awards 2013.

Pawsitively Natural, one of the companies from the Entrepreneurial Spark incubator centre, worked with Glasgow Caledonian University to work out the shelf-life of its gluten-free dog treats.

Macphie of Glenbervie, the Aberdeenshire-based food ingredients maker, took the sustained partnership award for its work with Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

Ashley Baker, head of research and development at Macphie of Glenbervie, and Gillian McFadzean, director of technology and research services at Heriot-Watt University, were each honoured with the outstanding contribution to knowledge exchange award.
