Distillery gets dram ready for royal pair

STAFF at Tullibardine distillery got into the swing of the royal wedding yesterday by filling a cask of whisky in honour of the newly-wed Earl and Countess of Strathearn.

The distillery is one of the most prominent landmarks in Strathearn, which was one of the titles gifted to Prince William by his grandmother, the Queen, on his wedding day.

Distillery director Doug Ross said the 250-litre former sherry hogshead cask would be given as a present to the royal couple, who could then choose to keep it or auction it off for charity.

The cask was filled at 11am, around the time that William and Kate were exchanging marriage vows at Westminster Abbey.
