Director Dealings: Renew buys up Amco

SPECIALIST engineering group Renew Holdings added another company to its growing portfolio of niche businesses last week.

Yorkshire-based Amco, which has a base in Alloa, works with the likes of ScottishPower and Scottish and Southern Energy on engineering projects. The company was bought by Renew in a 27 million deal. Chief executive Brian May said the acquisition would enable the group to increase and broaden the scale of its specialist engineering operations.

Following the announcement of the deal, Roy Harrison, non-executive chairman, increased his stake with the purchase of 40,000 shares at 58p. He now holds 100,000 shares.
