Talks will cover topics such as the nation’s IT security, “cloud computing” for businesses, Scotland’s IT infrastructure and social media.

A number of SMEs, including eCom, Morphsuits and twintangibles, will be staging seminars and workshops at Tuesday’s event, for which The Scotsman is a media supporter.

Stuart Patrick, chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “Scotland’s digital economy is an integral component of the country’s economic makeup, helping attract investment and facilitate job creation.

“Welcoming so many high-level representatives from Scotland’s digital industries is a great privilege for Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and further illustrates our commitment to encourage growth in the sector.”

Alex Neil MSP, the cabinet secretary for infrastructure and capital investment, is due to deliver a keynote address at the conference in the city’s Lighthouse gallery.

He said: “Scotland’s digital ambitions are critically important to make the Scottish economy competitive for the 21st century.”
