Di Maggio's has £15m on the menu

RESTAURANT chain Di Maggio's has secured £15 million of lending from Clydesdale Bank to fund its expansion plans, which include opening one of its Amarone outlets in Edinburgh later this month.

The family-run chain, which was founded in Glasgow in 1985, operates 13 restaurants under the Di Maggio's, Caf Andaluz, Barolo Grill and Amarone brands and last year turned over some 18.8m. The company employs about 500 staff.

The group is investing 750,000 in the new 150-seat outlet on the corner of George Street and St Andrew Square.
