Customers know what they like in Mywardrobe

ONLINE fashion retailer Mywardrobe yesterday posted a 96 per cent jump in like-for-like first-quarter sales, buoyed by its booming European business.

The website - which sells clothing by more than 180 designers including Philip Lim, Mulberry, Marc Jacobs and Paul Smith - reported 118 per cent growth in continental sales. The company plans further overseas expansion later this year and said it will re-launch its men's fashion website in time for spring 2012, having already unveiled its newly-revamped women's site at the end of February.

Sarah Curran, founder and chief executive, said: "The past 12 months and first quarter of 2011 has been a pivotal time for Mywardrobe. Not only have we seen phenomenal growth in the UK market, but we have already seen a significant rise in sales across Europe, as we lay the foundations for our international expansion."

Balderton Capital, one of Europe's largest venture capital groups, led a 6 million investment in the Nottingham-based business in July.
