Coup for Greene King as Coupe joins

GREENE King, the Suffolk-based beer maker that owns the Belhaven brewery near Dunbar, yesterday appointed the group commercial director at supermarket chain Sainsbury's to its board.

Mike Coupe will join next week as a non-executive director and will also sit on the firm's audit committee.

Tim Bridge, chairman of Greene King, said: "We look forward to welcoming Mike Coupe to our board and believe that the multi-site retailing and commercial experience he brings will be a great asset to us."

The appointment brings the number of non-executive directors to five.
