Cook quits hotel and restaurant group

ROBERT Cook is stepping down from MWB Group, where he has been head of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, to pursue other business opportunities.He joined Malmaison as chief executive in 2004.

That year the company almost doubled the size of the business through the acquisition of Hotel du Vin. It now has 26 boutique hotels and two standalone restaurants. Richard Balfour-Lynn, group chief executive, said Cook’s successor will lead Malmaison’s entry into overseas markets.
