New Falkirk-based Scottish tapas restaurant Christie's opens for business

A new Scottish tapas eatery opened to great fanfare in Falkirk.

A bagpiper and entertainer Barbara Bryceland were on hand to mark the official ribbon cutting ceremony at Christie’s, where customers can sample a selection of traditional dishes as smaller portions.

The newest addition to the town’s restaurant scene, which launched on Wednesday night, is based in the Manor Street premises formerly home to Italian favourite Amodo Mio.

In January, its Falkirk-based owners, Campbell Christie Property Investors, revealed they hoped to welcome diners from March at the earliest.

David Blackwood, Campbell Christie Property Investors director, was confident any delay in opening caused by lockdown restrictions would only whet food lovers’ appetites further.

From Scottish beef casserole with dough balls to haggis, neeps and tatties, there’s plenty on offer to fans of Scottish fare.

Mr Blackwood said: “We thought it was a great concept and conjures up images of sharing food with your family.

“We just see it as a great opportunity.”
