Construction firm Bancon secures £20.5m contracts

Aberdeenshire-based Bancon Group today announced that its construction division has been awarded contracts worth a total of £20.5 million across both the public and private sectors.

The deals comprise building work for several major projects including the creation of 80 affordable homes for Aberdeen City Council, the construction of a new hangar and reception centre for Gama Aviation at Aberdeen Airport, and the development of a new restaurant area in the former E&M’s building in the centre of the Granite City, with the latter set to start shortly on behalf of First Construction.

Gavin Currie, managing director of Bancon Construction, which has turnover of £60m and 180 employees, said: “These contracts, all competitively tendered, signal confidence in the local market but also in Bancon’s ability to deliver diverse and prestigious projects… we are well on track to meeting our growth plans for the next five years.”
