Compass board fills Crosby role

The board of catering giant Compass has named Sir Ian Robinson as its new senior independent non-executive director following the resignation of former HBOS chief executive Sir James Crosby.

Robinson, a former chief executive of ScottishPower, has been a non-executive at Compass since 2006 and will also chair its remuneration committee.

Chairman Sir Roy Gardner said Robinson, who spent three years as Scottish Enterprise chairman after leaving ScottishPower in 2001, “brings a wealth of experience to the Compass board”.

The group confirmed to the stock market yesterday that Crosby had resigned as its senior independent director after a report from MPs and peers highlighted his role in the collapse of HBOS.
