Coke float won't add Footsie fizz

The company that bottles Coke in the UK yesterday quashed speculation that it would switch its stock market listing from New York to London if an asset swap with Coca-Cola goes ahead.

Reports that Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) could move to London came ahead of its shareholders being asked at a meeting on Friday to back proposals to sell its North American arm to Coca-Cola - in return for Coca-Cola's Norwegian and Swedish bottling businesses and the chance to buy its German bottling division.

But CCE said it would remain US-domiciled and New York-listed if the asset swap goes ahead.
