Clark firmly on course as it concludes £10m deals

Construction, refurbishment and maintenance specialist Clark Contracts has kicked off the New Year with a series of business wins worth £10 million.

The work includes a 2.75m contract from West Dunbartonshire Council for the redevelopment of Clydebank town hall, due for completion by the end of 2011.

Clark, which was founded in 1978 and employs some 200 staff across its offices in Edinburgh and Paisley, will also undertake a 2m agreement with West Lothian Council for the refurbishment of Meldrum Primary School in Livingston.

Other work includes a maintenance contract with retailer JD Sports for 37 stores throughout Scotland and a deal to convert an old housing office in Rutherglen to a serviced centre for small businesses.

Chairman Steve Clark said: "Considering the economic climate, this is a fantastic start to the New Year for us. We are looking now to build on this momentum for the year ahead."
