Central targets rich clients in bespoke brand

CENTRAL Insurance, the highly-acquisitive Aberdeen-based firm that has grown to become one of the UK’s ten largest brokerages, is targeting wealthy clients with the launch of its latest brand.

The company already writes about £8 million worth of premiums each year for rich customers and aims to reach £10m in the next year after the launch of its “Central Bespoke” service.

The group said it will use its Kendal-based Peart and Performance Marque car insurance businesses to help cross sell other policies, including those for art, jewellery and homes.

Expanding the firm’s private client business follows on from the appointment in March of Gillian Hastings, a former corporate partner at accountancy firm Ernst & Young, and Graeme Manson, who founded Rutherford Manson Dowds and sold it to Deloitte, as non-executive directors to drive growth.

Central Insurance also signed a partnership deal earlier this year with the Porsche owners club to promote its policies.
