CBI boss Cridland issues his demands

The new head of the UK's biggest business organisation yesterday called on the UK government to put a "relentless focus" on economic growth to give businesses the confidence to invest, export and create jobs.

On his first day as CBI director-general, John Cridland said the coalition must: make the UK a more attractive place to invest; encourage more firms to export; remove barriers to job creation; and continue to tackle the fiscal deficit.
