Caterham revs up for Chinese sales

CATERHAM'S legendary Seven sports car will be sold in China for the first time after the company signed an exclusive deal with importer Courtenay Trading International (CTI).

Although Caterham has had a long-standing presence in the Far East, notably in Japan, the move into China is the latest step in the firm's expansion plan into growth markets.

CTI wants to appoint six dealers in China during the next year and is targeting sales of between 30 and 50 cars during its first year of operation.
