CarieScan signs Canadian distribution contract

CARIESCAN, the Dundee-based dental technology company formed after the collapse of Idmos, yesterday signed a distribution deal for its tooth decay detector in Canada.

The contract with Patterson Dental - Canada's largest dental equipment distributor - comes just weeks after CarieScan signed a deal with the same group to cover the United States.

Graham Lay, chief executive at parent group 3D Diagnostic Imaging, said: "Post the US deal, we are very excited that the Canadian agreement has followed so quickly and demonstrates the strength of the technology."

Idmos, CarieScan's predecessor, was listed on Aim but fell into administration in 2008, blaming a "prohibitive" distribution agreement. In March, 3D said it had trimmed its losses from 695,000 to 478,000.
