The firm, owned by Spencerfield Spirit Company, added that it has signed new distribution deals in Europe, Scandinavia and North America for its core range.
The new facility occupies a former biscuit factory, supplementing its distillery in Rutland Place, and will produce it main products including newly-added Seaside Gin, launched in time for summer.
Production is being led by head distiller David Wilkinson. Alex Nicol, co-founder of Edinburgh Gin, said: “Leith is steeped in history as an iconic gin port and was the centre of a home-grown spirits industry.
“This expansion will more than quadruple our production capacity, with the new distillery producing enough spirit to make over 2.5 million G&Ts per year.”
