Call to support self-employed

Scotland's legions of self-employed need dedicated support if they are to expand their businesses and employ others, according to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

The group argues that specialist one-to-one support could turn more of the country's 198,275 self-employed individuals into employers. The proposal will form a cornerstone of the FSB's 2011 Scottish Parliament campaign.
