Cairns takes the helm at ScotlandIS

DAVID Cairns, executive chairman of software company PrismTech, has been named as the new chairman of IT industry trade body ScotlandIS.

He succeeds Eddie Chance, of Chance Associates, who has been chairman of ScotlandIS for the past three years.

Cairns led Marcam and Baan's initial public offerings on the Nasdaq and Amsterdam stock exchanges, and supported PSA's IPO in Germany. He was also chief executive of US-based software firm G-Log, which he sold to Oracle in 2005.
