Cadell takes charge of John Swan's new arm

LATER this week, John Swan Ltd, auctioneers, livestock agents and estate agents and valuers will hold their annual general meeting.

Yesterday the company announced the establishment of a new property and estate agency division - John Swan Properties.

Jack Cadell has been appointed head of property and his responsibility will be to manage and expand the existing property services and to develop the business into new areas.

Cadell will also be responsible for the development of the new auction mart as well as the proposed associated retail facilities at Newtown St Boswells.

The new division will specialise in three main areas; investment in property linked with development agency consultancy, estate agency and agricultural property sales and rural services.

Commenting on the announcement, Jack Clark, managing director of John Swan, said the move was a further expansion of the services which the firm would be able to offer.

"We are delighted to bring Jack Cadell into the John Swan team," said Clark.

"His breadth of property experience made him the obvious choice to develop the property side of John Swan Ltd and also deliver our much needed new auction mart facility at Newtown St Boswells."
