Stewart Group keeps things local

Aberdeen-based shipbroker the Stewart Group has hired local man Michael Braid to launch its specialist subsea and renewables business.

A former pupil at Robert Gordon’s College in Aberdeen, Michael, who has an MA in marketing from Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University, has previous experience in surveying, logistics, offshore operations and shipbroking in the energy sector.

Robinson rising up

Dunfermline-based consultancy group M&C Energy has hired Mark Robinson as a corporate account manager for the UK.

Robinson, 36, started his career with five years at Npower. More recently, he was head of customer portfolio for First Utility, a mainly domestic energy supplier, with a focus on smart metering.

Partnership role

Chartered surveyor Stuart Johnston has been made a partner at the firm he joined in 2010, Aberdeen-based DM Hall.

Johnston is responsible for the management and development of commercial valuation, professional, building surveying and agency work throughout the north of Scotland.

Defence boosted

Lawyer Duncan Mawby has joined BTO’s expanding clinical defence team as a partner in the firm’s Edinburgh office.

Formerly at Dundas & Wilson, Mawby has experience of clinical negligence claims, Fatal Accident Inquiries and health and safety prosecutions.
