BDO – Partners at the accounting firm have approved its merger with PKF. The deal to create a group with annual revenues of about £400 million a year is due to complete by the spring.

• Greene King – Chief executive Rooney Anand has sold almost 80,000 shares, worth more than £495,000, in the owner of Belhaven Best and Old Speckled Hen. He kept a further 73,000 shares awarded under the brewer’s long-term incentive plan.

• Terrace Hill – The Glasgow–based property developer chaired by oil tycoon Robert Adair posted a pre–tax profit of £1.8m for the year to September, compared with a £10.2m loss a year ago, following a strong performance at its food store business.

• Go-Ahead – The transport group behind almost a third of Britain’s train journeys urged the UK government to get its rail franchise programme back on track as it said it remained on target to grow its bus profits to £100m by 2015–16.

• Carpetright – New chief executive Darren Shapland, who took over from veteran boss Lord Harris seven months ago, pledged to refresh more stores as the retailer said first–half UK operating profits jumped to £5.2m, up from £800,000 a year earlier.
