EIS Waste Services – The Aberdeen-based recycling and waste management group has bought five trucks and a specialist JCB machine for £600,000, taking investment in the past 12 months to £3 million.

The company, which aims to record £10m in turnover this year, recycles 85 per cent of the waste it handles to meet the growing demand from clients to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.

• Buchanan Galleries – The Glasgow shopping destination has appointed Linda McCormick as its marketing manager. The appointment marks a return to retail and Scotland for Fife-born McCormick, a former office manager of Dundee’s Overgate Shopping Centre who also worked at the Bluewater in Kent before moving into the pharmaceutical industry.

• Senergy – A technology specialist who has a track record in Formula 1 is applying his expertise to the oil and gas industry after being appointed by energy services company Senergy. Lesmana Djayapertapa specialises in “computational fluid dynamics”, a discipline which Aberdeen-based Senergy adapted for its Wellscope technology.

• Premier Foods – The owner of Batchelors, Bisto and Hovis is selling its Scotstoun Mill building in Glasgow. Property consultancy CBRE is marketing the 61,000sq ft property, which includes a multi-storey flour mill, a warehouse and a brick-built mill on a site extending to about 1.3 acres. The industrial site has been earmarked for residential development by Glasgow City Council and CBRE said it could be perfect for student accommodation.

• Healthy Websites – The Hamilton-based software developer has grown its turnover to £239,000 in the year to 31 March from £147,000 in the previous 12 months after securing a contract from telecoms firm Nycomm, thanks to help from Business Gateway. Managing director Alistair Macneil now aims to grow revenues to £350,000 during his current financial year.
