Business briefs: Darling completes hat-trick at HBJ

HBJ Gateley will today unveil its latest recruit in Glasgow as the law firm continues to rebuild its west coast team following the departure of several partners.

Corporate recovery partner Craig Darling joins from rival Dundas & Wilson, completing a hat-trick of recent appointments that saw Caroline James move from Tods Murray and Tim Cooper join from the Manchester office of law firm Squire Sanders Hammonds.

HBJ aims to grow its corporate recovery practice – including work on administrations, liquidations and receiverships – alongside expansion of its energy and litigation work.

POLICYMAKERS at the Bank of England are expected to hold firm with their forecasts for growth and inflation this week as indicators reveal recovery is on a knife edge.

Official figures show the economy contracted by 0.2 per cent in the final quarter of 2011, but inflation is tipped to hit the bank’s 2 per cent target later this year.

£25m for data group

SIX Degrees Group, the data services company, has agreed a long-term £25 million credit facility with Clydesdale Bank.

The new arrangement provides additional funding to support the group’s strategy of organic and acquisitive growth.
