Business briefs: Blur nets American hospital contracts

Blur Group, the technology firm founded by former Letts diary publishing group owner Philip Letts, has attracted $500,000-worth of contracts from US hospitals for its “online exchange”, where small companies can bid to carry out work for larger businesses.

The company floated on Aim last month.

Firm seeks £100m to win customers

Mobile banking firm Monitise is in talks with institutional and strategic investors over plans to raise up to £100 million.

The company, which has more than 18 million registered users of its mobile money services, said the proceeds would be used to target new financial services customers.

Haulage firm hooks up £1m trailer deal

CURRIE European Transport, the Dumfries-based haulage firm, is to lease 50 trailers from Asset Alliance under a £1 million deal.

The trailers, made by German firm Krone, will start to be delivered next month. Asset Alliance head of leasing John McLaughlin brokered the deal.
