Aston Martin's sleek new DB11 has broken pre-order records at Scotland's only dedicated dealership.

Roddy McAllister, head of sales for Aston Martin Edinburgh, which is located on Bankhead Drive in Sighthill, said that he has taken more deposits on the new model than any other.

“The interest has been phenomenal, we took 14 pre-orders before it was even unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and a further four on Saturday when we had it for one day in the showroom,” he said. “Previously our record was six – and that was for the Aston Martin Vanquish.”

The DB11 is the first redesign of the DB model – made famous by its appearance in James Bond movies – in 13 years.

With prices starting at £154,900, the car has been described by Aston Martin boss Andy Palmer as “the absolute embodiment of what an Aston Martin should be”.

Production numbers are very limited across the world, with the Edinburgh-based dealership having an allocation for 2016 of ten.

Chris McMahon, together with his father, Hugh McMahon, and finance director Brian Ritchie, took over the dealership and the Rolls-Royce franchise next door in April 2014 and have seen sales increase significantly over the last two years.
