Bruce Waddell joins Big Partnership

FORMER Daily Record and Scottish Sun editor Bruce Waddell is joining Scotland’s biggest public relations agency, The Big Partnership, as director of media.

Waddell, 52, who left Record owner Trinity Mirror in a management shake-up in December, said he had considered a number of “interesting offers” from Scotland and beyond.

He began his career with the Falkirk Herald group in 1976 and joined the Sun for its Scottish launch in 1987. He became editor in 1998 and changed the title to the Scottish Sun. He was headhunted to become editor of the Daily Record in 2003 and became editor-in-chief of the Record and Sunday Mail in 2010.
