Brodies names O’Neill as chair

STAFF at law firm Brodies have elected Christine O’Neill as their new chairman.

O’Neill, who will continue in her role as a solicitor advocate within the firm’s public law and regulatory practice, replaces Joyce Cullen, who chose not to stand for re-election following nine years in the post.

Cullen will remain as a partner and one of the firm’s most high-profile litigators.

Managing partner Bill Drummond said: “It is fitting that Christine, who became a partner in the same year Joyce took over the role, now succeeds her in such a key position for our firm.”

Brodies also announced yesterday that ten solicitors have been promoted to the role of associates, while three lawyers – Andrew Akintewe in funds, Bob Forman in property and Neal Richardson in banking – have joined the partnership.
