Bowleven finance chief quits after nine years

Edinburgh-based oil driller Bowleven today said finance director John Brown is to leave early next year and will be replaced by his deputy.

The Aim-quoted firm said Brown was taking on the role of chief financial officer at an “expanding offshore energy services company” would will be relocating to the United Arab Emirates.

Brown, who joined the Africa-focused group in 2004, will be replaced deputy finance director Kerry Crawford, who spent ten years at fellow Edinburgh-based company Cairn Energy before joining Bowleven almost six years ago.

Chairman Ronnie Hanna said: “Bowleven is very fortunate to be able to promote a high quality individual from within its team as its future finance director.

“Kerry has been a key member of the senior management team for many years and is a well-known and respected figure, both in the City and the oil industry at large.”
