Bonmarche sales soar in fourth quarter

Womenswear retailer Bonmarche today said its annual results should exceed its expectations after it enjoyed soaring sales during the fourth quarter of its financial year.

The firm said like-for-like sales jumped 16.3 per cent in the 13 weeks to 29 March, helped by a 72.8 per cent surge in takings over the internet.

Bonmarche, which trades from 263 stores and concessions, is due to report its annual results on 13 June. The company, based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, floated in November.
