BMW revs up with 15% rise in sales

LUXURY car maker BMW said sales were up 14.6 per cent last month, bolstered by rising demand in Europe, the United States and Asia.

The Munich-based giant, whose brands also include Mini and Rolls-Royce, said it sold nearly 116,400 cars worldwide last month.

In the US, BMW's biggest export market, sales rose 9 per compared to April 2009 with 21,111 cars sold. The Asian market saw an increase of nearly 65 per cent while sales in Europe were up nearly 4 per cent. BMW aims to sell more than 1.3 million cars in 2010.
