Biggar plans a tour of Britain to raise Cash for Kids

Retired stockbroker Alan Biggar has launched his latest charity drive with plans to take his 50-year-old Morgan sports car around Britain.

Alan, from North Berwick, retired from Brewin Dolphin at the end of January 2010, but no-one could accuse him of taking it easy.

The classic car enthusiast has teamed up with Radio Forth for the drive, which will take place over two weeks in May and June. It will raise money for the Cash for Kids charity which, in turn, is donating 75 per cent of the total to Teenage Cancer Trust's East of Scotland Appeal.

Alan, who drove round Brewin Dolphin's UK offices in 2008 to help fund the first Teenage Cancer Trust unit in Edinburgh, has already started fundraising, with an official launch alongside artist John Lowrie Morrison.

Alan has set up a wine business with his son-in-law Andrew Lundy and restaurateur Gavin Ferguson. Vino Wines already has three shops in Edinburgh.

"This retirement lark is hard work," he said.
