Beat Systems bought by Capita

OUTSOURCING giant Capita has snapped up Glasgow-based mobile computing software firm Beat Systems for an undisclosed sum.

Beat - which counts the Scottish Government and British Transport Police among its clients - will become part of London-listed Capita's "secure information services" business, which it bought from SunGard in December for 86 million.

Andy Parker, Capita's joint chief operating officer, said: "This deal adds to our ongoing investment in Scotland, where we now rank as one of the nation's largest private-sector employers."
