BBA boss warns Cable over bank break-up

ANGELA Knight, head of the British Bankers' Association, has warned new Business Secretary Vince Cable that his aim to break up the banks would lead to further heavy job losses in Britain's financial services industry and affect the City's ability to compete with other countries.

She told The Scotsman's sister paper, Scotland on Sunday: "It would put our banks at a disadvantage, it would put the UK at a disadvantage."
