Barfly: Now then now then

IT HAS a reputation as being the World Wide Web’s depository for all things weird and wonderful.

Surprisingly, in spite of the benefits and obvious efficiencies, neither YouTube nor video have been widely adopted by the commercial property industry as a mainstream marketing technique.

Glasgow-based Freeman MacLeod hopes to change all that with the marketing of space at the West 11 development. It has posted two videos of the office and its secure parking. Director Jeff Freeman confesses: “We are the first to admit the videos are not to BBC documentary quality, but they do provide all the information interested parties might need.

“We are hopeful that YouTube will attract a canny buyer.”

Clever, but we’re not sure if it will spark a new internet phenomenon.
